Pen knew he was popular with the ladies, well, at least back home, just ask his fanclub! But no one in Sandrock seemed to show him much interest until the new builder, Lucy, showed up. One too many drinks had the builder all over Pen one late night at the Saloon and while Pen may have blood on his hands, he at least had the decency to ensure his partners were sober enough to consent.
However, when word gets back to Matilda, it becomes clear that the best way to keep the budding builder under a watchful eye would be to have Pen forge a relationship with her. He can distract and slow down her progress, and maybe she’d even be willing to join their side, or at the very least, not have the heart to fight against her beloved in the end.
It’s not like Pen could ever fall for his enemy, right?

Then when she was doing her work experience she was captured by Duvos and tortured for information she didn't have. Now she is rescued and scarred but back in Sandrock and everyone apparently was told she had died nearly two years prior. But Logan, her closest friend is gone and now a wanted criminal. Once she gets the immediate crises sorted she is sure she will have time to figure out whats going on.

We don't like Pen here. I think I got all the triggers but chapters with things have either warnings in the chapter or summaries at the bottom and instructions at the top so you can skip. I would recommend checking tags in case more get added.

I posted this ages ago on the MTaS/MTaE subreddits, but in lieu of joining AO3 to post additional work (and after a heavy round of editing to make it worthy) I decided to share it here as well. ⊹ This short story was inspired by the lore given to us when we reached the Kickstarter goal to bring Logan to Evershine (project update #8 for reference). I felt like sharing my take on how a "married Logan" would've responded to the challenge of taking down the S class beast known as "the Red-eye" given that Jasmine's account felt more like a "single Logan" perspective to me. ⊹ If you haven't read the original, I highly recommend it. It's Harmless enough until it starts making him reckless and stupid.
