Everyone has always assumed Eddie is a beta. It’s not like he ever lied about it… he just didn’t bother correcting them. Doing her best not to disrupt the class or call attention to herself, Chrissy tried to reach for the pen, stretching her leg as much as she could to drag it toward her. It wasn't a very solid plan so it took her a while to bring it closer and when she did, before she leaned to grab it, she looked straight ahead and was struck with a wild revelation.
Eddie Munson (drug dealer, teacher’s worst nightmare, rumored worshiper of Satan) was looking at her.
She gasped.
He sat on the opposite side of the class, facing her, but Chrissy had never once in her life spoken to him. She would have immediately averted her eyes if it wasn't for the fact that he wasn't looking into her eyes at all. He was looking at her, but not at what she was doing or the face she was making. When he gets to their building the door is ajar, but he doesn’t worry. The building is old, the door is old, and it probably got stuck for the umpteenth time.
What makes him worry is seeing their cat, Ozzy, running down the stairs toward him.
Steve would have never let the cat leave the apartment, he is fucking terrified that he could get lost or worst.
His blood freezes and for a moment he is incapable of moving, a very bad feeling is hunting him, and in his mind, he keeps hearing Garreth’s words “Getting married on Halloween night brings bad luck!”
Eddie starts to run up the stairs two at a time, cursing because their apartment is a fucking penthouse.
He hears muffled whimpers and runs even faster, the door of their apartment is open.
“Steve!” he screams, getting in. The boy is on the floor covered in blood while four men are abusing him. -
