Summary
The world ended quietly—no fire, no flood, just the soft blooming of spores where cities once breathed.
Prior Walter was supposed to die. Infected, abandoned, hallucinating angels and riddles. But instead, something inside him changed. He doesn’t turn. He doesn’t rot. He begins to grow.
Across a crumbling America ruled by fear and fungus, survivors cling to scraps of government and hope. Louis finds himself entangled in a rebellion that promises salvation at the cost of morality. Joe Pitt, a haunted enforcer for FEDRA, begins to question the lines he was told never to cross. Belize navigates the underground, chasing rumors of someone who may be immune. Harper, half-mad and half-oracle, sees everything before it happens—until it’s too late.
And above it all, the Angel descends again. Beautiful. Fungal. Divine. It calls Prior to ascend, to become something more. But Prior isn’t interested in being a god. He just wants to plant something new in the ashes.
This is a story about plague and prophecy, love and rot, and what it means to bloom after the end.
