Summary
Gavin Reed, one of the most vocal anti-android members of the DPD, has the RK900, Nines, assigned as his partner. The two of them work well together, but Nines can't ignore Detective Reed's dislike of androids. He attempts to minimize anything that might remind him too overtly of their differences.
Or, five times Nines hid something about his android self, and one time he didn't have to hide anymore.

This ff is my idea to explain Gavin's hate for androids. (Part 2)
In the eyes of Detective Reed androids were just defect machines. Made to torture him. He has survived his own household model and now, after all these years, a new RK model appeared to make his life more terrible.
RK900 has to deal with the horrible human being as a partner, but it seems that not all bad rumors about Reed were true.

"Don't you like flowers, Detective?" Reed paused and glanced at him.

His fingers clawed into the table, while his ankles came out white. In the glass wall, which separated his desk from the passageway, he saw a reflection.
A tall, male figure. A blurred face. Dark hair. Clinical white clothing. The flare-up of the blue android icons.

Summary
Connor is an abandoned prototype android activated as a free man in a post-CyberLife world. He's assigned to work as an intern at the DPD to gain real life experience. Which seems like a good idea until he meets Gavin Reed, a shitty officer known for roughing up suspects and getting commendations for it. Worse, when Connor's assigned as his partner, Connor slowly becomes frustrated with a system that rewards police brutality and androidphobia with promotions and praise.
But turning on Gavin means offending the humans who've put their faith in him to be the next Lieutenant, and sabotaging Connor's own ambitions of getting signed on at the precinct once his internship ends.
His only hope is a jaded old cop named Hank, who’s on the verge of getting thrown off the force. Hank has tried to fight the system for years to no avail, but together, maybe Connor and Hank can bring down Gavin and the system that props up a corrupt cop at the expense of the concept of 'protect and serve'...

Summary
After a fight gets Connor kicked out of the house, and he wanders for a while, trying to clear his head. He finds himself in a not so great part of Detroit, and in the middle of an anti-android group meeting.
He tries to get away, but luck is not on his side tonight, as he is surrounded by hate filled humans. After the beating he takes, he just wants to go home, apologize to Hank, beg him to hold him, and make him feel safe again. The group members have other ideas. They want to make an example out of this android, tear him apart and spread fear to all of their kind.
Connor just wants to see Hank again, wants to pet Sumo's fur, and snuggle into Hank's faded DPD sweatshirt on the couch on a lazy Sunday morning.
He wonders if he will ever be able to again.
And so he prays, to an RA9 he doesn't believe in that Hank will realize something is wrong and come save him. -

Summary
The android revolution fails, and Hank believes Connor to be dead. To his surprise, Connor finds him in the DPD parking garage and begs for his help. RK900 units are chasing him down to deactivate him, and Hank is his only hope.
Hank agrees to help, but Connor is forcibly recalled, dragged back to CyberLife before Hank can stop him. He chases Connor down, desperate to save him, and makes a deal with none other than Elijah Kamski himself. In exchange for giving Kamski data about human-android relationships, Connor will be returned to the DPD on loan.
Hank knows there has to be a catch, especially when he's partnered with Special Agent Perkins on an investigation into Kamski's involvement in the revolution, but he's left waiting for the hammer to fall as he and Connor grow closer...

"In the past week." There was a television set up in the break room, he didn't listen to much to what was on the news normally, so the fact that something important was going on caught his attention. "Over seven thousand androids have begun to search for jobs in the workforce. The recent laws passed require that employers cannot discriminate against somebody due to whether or not they are android or human, similar to the previous laws passed decades ago to protect women and minority groups."
"Phcking androids, like it wasn't hard enough for humans to get jobs." Gavin remarked to nobody in particular as took a long sip of his coffee. Cringing as the hot drink scalded his throat. Shit, that hurt.
Androids have finally secured the right to work and a fair wage. RK900, Richard has eagerly joined the DPD.
Too bad his new partner is an asshole.

Steel blue eyes fixed him. Immediately the detective looked away and to his captain, silently pleading for mercy. Fowler was asking too much. Why could they not just leave him alone?
Gavin did not even dare to look for the number. He knew it. He felt it with every pore of his body, but he did not want to see it.

Sonny left out a harsh, disbelieving laugh. “Did you hear him?” he asked his companions, gesturing to Connor. “Trying to catch my dog. No, you idiot, I meant what is an android doing out here.”
