Summary
Perhaps it's a door-to-door salesman, or maybe another lost American. Those are always pleasant meals for the Lonely, and so Jon, against his instincts, opens the door and comes face to face with a handsome Black man in a Hawaiian shirt somehow managing to pull off the myriad of scars decorating his frame.
He comes alone, his dark eyes sunken in with bruise-like bags, his eyebrows furrowing, plump lips drawn tight. A lost American, then, probably, or maybe a relative of someone he cast into the Lonely come to give him vengeance.
"Can I help you?" He all but snaps, the fog around his house thickening already as though salivating.
"Are you Jonathan Sims?" The man asks in a voice just as curt, and with a distinctly English accent.
The fog grows thicker, this time with defensive hostility, a predator pulling back its haunches and readying to strike. "Who's asking?"
The man spits his title out as though it's poison, "The Archivist."

Summary
It is an accepted truth that one day, we all die. People meet their fates in many different ways and nobody really knows when its their time until it has come. Regardless, we all come to an end one way or another and none of us truly know what comes after.
Four Archivists all walked very similar paths and all of them met their subsequent ends, only to find that the path kept going. That their paths have suddenly converged. For better or for worse.
They all end up somewhere else.

Jon, Martin, Sasha and Tim were all Archivists in alternate timelines who, after their deaths, end up in the same dimension with the goal of setting things right.

Takes place in the "Allow Me to Shed Some Darkness" AU by ASTEROlDS, where Archivist versions of all the s1 archival staff (Tim, Jon, Sasha, Martin) are transported to an alternate universe that looks much like canon s1, and none of them know that the others have all experienced being the Archivist before. Not necessary to have read that AU if you understand that premise, but I definitely recommend it! Link is in the notes.
