But this has caught bad, unwanted attention... and not just from the Forsaken. No, He wants her. The Dark One. He needs her on his side. However, Moiraine does not deviate from the Light so easily. Her whole life has been dedicated to the Light, and so now He must use his agents of darkness to lure her in to take the Dark Oaths. But will she? Is her will strong enough? Will the Dark One, or even the Forsaken, let her go? Would they rather have her die than to be threat fighting for his arch nemesis, the Light?

Summary
Atop Dragonmount, Rand al'Thor chooses differently. However, when he turns the One Power against the Pattern, it doesn't break the Pattern. It merely burns away two years, effectively throwing Rand back in time. With his judgement no longer clouded by madness and equipped with Lews Therin's memories, Rand has a second chance, and he doesn't intend to waste it.

When Rand followed Lanfear into the Ways he begins experiencing consequences of being shielded and unshielded.
Shielding removed the taint from his body and being unshielded again flooded his body with the taint.
There in the Ways Rand, Moiraine and Lan learn something new about the taint and about Lanfear.Rand loves Lanfear, but he also comes to see just how much he needs her how valuable she is.

Elayne leaned back into Rand's arms, her legs draped along his, spread wide.
She had thought that all of her blushes had been gone after she and Rand had finally slept together, but it seemed that she still had a few left, because she was definitely feeling overheated at the thought of what was going to happen next.
Aviendha knelt down between Elayne's legs, placing a hand on either thigh.
"You are certain of your willingness, first-sister?" she asked, with a painful formality that told Elayne that Aviendha was nervous too.

Summary
A confession from Rand reshapes Mat's future plans and choices.
Mat had — against his will — gotten used to Rand appearing in the middle of the night. It was the safest time for them to meet without anyone knowing that they were communicating. Even though Rand and Mat had already talked out the plan and technically didn’t need to meet up anymore, somehow he still ended up in Mat’s bedroom at least once a week. He would talk about their plans against Illian sometimes, but it was just as likely to be him going on about how confusing women were, especially Aviendha and Elayne Trakand.
Not that Mat disagreed in particular. He’d often found himself perplexed by Aviendha and Elayne too, though certainly not for the same reasons as Rand.
Mat frowned, banishing the memory of red-gold hair.
Not for the same reasons at all.

“Light, no,” Rand said. “If you tell Mat he’s experiencing a feeling even a moment before he’s good and ready to admit—to himself, let alone aloud—that he’s experiencing said feeling, he’ll just throw a fit and sink even deeper into denial. Stubborn woolhead.”
“Then we must endeavor to help him grow ready to admit it,” Aviendha said, undeterred.
The slightest hint of a smile touched Rand’s eyes. “I’ll settle for him and Elayne just being willing to sit in a room together by the time I next see them,” he said. “If you manage to successfully matchmake them, I’ll start to suspect you’re the Creator herself.”

He’d feel it all when he was safe, he’d always assured himself. Yet, Mat had a sneaking suspicion that the day where he was safe enough to exist as more than a hair-trigger soldier was never going to arrive.
OR: The warriors of old have been protecting Mat since before he could talk. He may not have blown the Horn of Valere yet, but they know their own, and they will not leave him to fall before he has the chance to fly. This changes some things and leaves others entirely untouched.
OR, OR: The Heroes of the Horn behave akin to dissociative identity states, because Season 3 is doing things to me.

Rand glanced down, looking startled. “Who’s that you’ve got there?”
“My…my daughter,” Mat said, after a slight hesitation. He knew this really was Rand now, and he trusted Rand with his life, but it was hard to trust anyone with hers.
Rand’s eyes widened, and then his whole face went soft. Mat remembered seeing that look on his…old face, every time he met someone’s new baby in Emond’s Field. “She’s beautiful, Mat,” he said, and Mat nodded in agreement. She was, of course, the most beautiful baby who’d ever graced the world. “What are you two doing here?”
Rand’s expression was more serious now. He’d guessed they were in trouble. “It’s a long story,” Mat said. “Can we go somewhere private to talk?”
After the Last Battle, Mat and Rand find their way home.

Summary
Rand sat on a makeshift throne in the Heart of the Stone of Tear, the sword Callandor balanced across his knees. The vast chamber had been mostly destroyed in his battle for Callandor, but Moiraine had said that was all the more reason to invite Tear’s nobles to come to him in this place—it would impress upon them the Power he wielded, and the fact that they owed their city’s safety to him.
And so one by one, all the nobles of the city were stepping forth to kneel before him. To pledge their fealty to the Dragon Reborn, swearing on the Light and their hope of salvation and rebirth.
A shepherd on a throne, ruling over lords and ladies. What absurdity the world had come to. Rand let out a soft chuckle, which earned him several concerned looks.
