Merlin is fierce and cunning and utterly protective and more powerful than he thinks. With the help of Gwaine and Lancelot, Merlin soon discovers the bounds of his strength.

Perhaps it would be safe to confide in someone with a natural talent for Occlumency, an accomplished liar who could spy for both sides but would ultimately be on the side of light? Yet this Severus Snape is not the accomplished Potions Master she once knew and trusted. She decides to strike a deal with him, and they come to an accord, secrecy for each of them, Occlumency lessons for her, and revenge against the Marauders for him. Hermione supposes revenge isn’t a very heroic, Gryffindor thing to do but she has always been good at making plans, and really, if the school administration won’t punish a bunch of bullies then taking it into their own hands is only practical. -
