Summary
Following the aftermath of Sinsmas, Stolas is left in the wake of every bad decision he had made up until that point, especially in the wake of how he hurt his daughter, and he had been waiting for a chance to make things right with her and to show her how much she means to him.
But when said chance arrives in the form of a military summons from Lucifer Morningstar for the Goetia to rescue Charlie Morningstar from Heaven, and the threat of his daughter being sent instead, there is nothing Stolas won't do to ensure that Octavia will not have to go in his place.
Now he needs to find the will to not only survive but live, for his daughter, for Blitz, and for everyone he has grown to call his family.
Meanwhile Octavia must grapple with complicated feelings of anger, confusion, and grief that came from her fallout with her father. But with the impending war against Heaven now in effect, Octavia will have to take control of her life sooner than later.
And Blitz is barely holding it together to help the man who has become the king of his heart and the girl who he loves like his own daughter even if she hates him.
Love doesn't conquer all but it's all they have left.

It took me months just to get this one.” He spoke as he remembered the hours he spent calling the office, and almost ready to barge through the door to give the staff a piece of his mind
“I’m terribly sorry to interrupt what you’re doing, but I’m a bit tied up at the moment.”
Blitz was unsure of what he meant by that. “What, did somebody rob you or something?”
Stolas could be heard sighing on the other line. “No, I meant I’m literally tied up.”
The imp nearly choked on nothing as soon as he heard this. “Wait, what?!”

It had started earlier that day. He’d known it would probably happen soon, but he’d never prepared himself for the eventuality of having to ask for help. The pain was like nothing he had ever experienced before as he lay on the floor of his office that night after everyone had gone home…breathing through the pain was no longer an option… He had long since removed his clothes, stripped down to his skin and sweating buckets. His body showed few signs …hence why he hadn’t cottoned on what was going on until it was much too late to do anything about it. He wished he had a supply of water where he could reach it, but he was in too much pain to retrieve it now.
He’d been able to convince himself earlier that he didn’t need his help…or anyone’s help for that matter…but the more the urge consumed him, the closer he got to reaching for that phone to call for help.
Stolas. He needed Stolas.
