The day they came was a Tuesday.
Tuesday was particularly memorable for more reasons than that. Tuesday was the day Hestia destroyed Kronos’ scythe. Tuesday was the day Luke Castellan destroyed Kronos. Tuesday was the day Camp Half-Blood held off the Titan Army in Manhattan. Tuesday was the day Nico di Angelo and his father Hades fought to save Olympus. Tuesday was the day Poseidon helped defeat Typhon. Tuesday was the day Rachel Elizabeth Dare became the new Oracle of Delphi. Tuesday was the day Percy Jackson gave up godhood in favor of forcing the gods to claim their children. Tuesday was the day the Great Prophecy was fulfilled. Tuesday was the day the new Great Prophecy was made. And Tuesday was the day Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase finally started dating.
But they came on Tuesday too.The day after the Titan War ends, changes start to happen. For some reason they seem to happen around Percy Jackson (because naturally the strange things must happen to him), Annabeth Chase (she always gets dragged into whatever mess Percy's found himself in), and Nico di Angelo (as if being the son of Hades wasn't strange enough). As they enter the next war, it's up to these three to make sure it ends right.

When the kings of Greece come to conscript Odysseus for the Trojan War, Penelope of Ithaca knows one thing: she will not lose her husband to war, and she will not let her son be used to take him. In a desperate attempt to save her family, Penelope offers herself to the war effort in Odysseus's place.
Penelope is whisked away to Troy with her army, and a devastated Odysseus is left to raise his infant son alone. Even when the war ends, their trials do not. Penelope faces gods and monsters while Odysseus struggles to rule Ithaca and protect himself and his son from the malevolent suitors seeking his hand.
Essentially, the plot of EPIC, but Penelope and Odysseus's places are switched, and the Ithaca side of the plot is quite a bit darker.

Jason stands behind the counter, and Piper hates how her face flushes involuntarily at how good he looks. He’s wearing a soft powder-blue sweater that seems to intensify his dark blue eyes, and the sleeves are shoved almost carelessly up to his forearms. She knows his jeans will fit him just right and every time he walks away her gaze will slide down to his ass, even though it’s the last thing she wants to do.
He’s her boss. He’s got a huge stick up his ass. He’s never once tried to have any sort of personal conversation with her in the five months she’s worked there.
He’s a year older than her, so he’s a senior instead of a junior in college. He’s been working at the campus bookstore since his sophomore year. He’s the one who hired her, but sometimes Piper wonders why because it doesn’t seem like he likes her all that much.

“It’s funny. We’ve never really spoken much,” Piper continues on. “But I couldn’t seem to get away from you when you and Reyna first got together. Everyone kept coming up to me, wanting to tell me all about this guy on the swim team my ex hooked up with. I still don’t know why. Maybe they thought I’d rather hear it from a friend, or maybe they thought I’d be interested. Maybe they thought I’d be scandalized, because she was with a guy, but the thing is – I like guys, too. And I knew she did. So it’s not like it came as a shock."

Annabeth’s jaw dropped. It was cheap. Not dirt cheap, but cheap enough that they had pretty much no excuse not to go and travel the world. All three of them looked hopefully at Jason, who was staring at the screen.
“All we have to do is book our flights to Lima, and home,” Piper said carefully, not taking her eyes off Jason. “That’s it.”
“Well?” Percy asked Jason impatiently. “What’re we doing, dude? Are we going or not?”
Jason nodded. “We’re going.”
One semester. Nineteen countries. Three continents. One tour group. Four friends. Countless new experiences. The numbers don't lie. Piper, Jason, Annabeth, and Percy are in for the trip of a lifetime.

However, what he fails to realise is that, when earning the interest of an Olympian, that favour comes with a heavy price. Apparently, in this case, it means Hermes sticking around to see how long it takes before Odysseus throws himself into the water for some peace and quiet. -
