Summary
'He often wonders how many minutes he’s lost without his sister. Within her absence, a ticking clock meant a nearing minute that she could turn up, could be found, could simply show up at his doorstep and wrap her arms around her and finally finish that game of Sorry they started all those years ago.
A ticking clock now means an end. The potential for another nosebleed. The wavering and eventual collapse. The stilling of a heart. Mulder cannot fathom wishing to lose even nine minutes of the time he has left with Dana Scully.
However long that may be.'

Summary
There had been so many false starts between them. They lived in this dichotomy that had become all too comfortable; partners, friends; a professional air, a flirtation they skirted around and then those sporadic moments in the dark. Passionate and wanting, always as a result of something terrible and then never spoken of again. Cloistered and hidden away, until the next time.

Early morning light dances across her features as we glide through the quiet streets, light and shadow shifting and changing, like she’s standing in front of one of my slideshows. It starts to rain, and she rolls down her window, holds out a hand to catch the drops.

Summary
Mulder’s profiling skills combined with Scully’s forensic expertise lead them to a bookshop that sold the copy of Wuthering Heights that the killer is using as his calling card.
Mulder suspects Theodore Bell, the proprietor of the shop who seems awfully flirtatious with Scully. Not that flirting with Scully is against the law—although, as far as Mulder is concerned, maybe it should be.

When a snow storm leaves her stuck in Philadelphia for the night, impulse and frustration leads Dana to take up Eddie's offer of drinks. One thing leads to another and the next thing Dana knows is she's waking up in a stranger's bed with a new tattoo. Her assignment comes full circle when the mob she's investigating comes knocking.

Summary
Wasn’t Hell just the place where love can’t reach you? Hadn’t he read that somewhere, or was it just something she’d said? Maybe all that Hell was, was walking out of the hospital for the last time, alone; going home, and sitting on the couch and staring at the wall, knowing he’d never speak with her again. Hell was life stretching on, too long at any length, and bleak for want of her.
With Scully in remission, Mulder reckons with grief that hasn’t come to pass.
