It comes as a relief to know that there will at least be one less tribute this year. District 12 has only one surviving victor. Rue doesn't understand President Snow's careful choice of words until later, when she's on a train barreling towards the Capitol, back into the Games. She watches the recap in her cabin, sees Haymitch Abernathy step up when his name is called, and then her heart stops because there is Katniss's sister standing beside him. "Those who have already survived a Reaping." It was because of Katniss that Primrose survived her reaping, and Katniss who sacrificed herself so that Rue could live. What will either of them do now without her?

I was a child, murdering other children last time. I became a killer that first night in my arena. Nothing can prepare you for that first moment. When you snuff out someone’s last breath. Take away their future. I am more experienced now. I know what it is like to sink a blade into someone’s chest, what it sounds like when a spear hits a gut, the shaky last breath of a friend. I am stronger and more prepared for death, but this time I know everyone. I don’t necessarily like everyone, but I have talked with them. I shared meals with them. We are comrades. We are all victims of the capital. So it is harder to see these faces, but also easier, they are no longer children, they haven’t been a child since their own games.

What happens to Peeta after Catching Fire ends? How cosy are things in The Capitol? Not very...though at least for some of it he and Johanna have each other to talk to, and he can talk to Caesar, and there's the ever lovely President Snow. Isn't that great? Are you too upset to go on?
Prepare to discover the fate of the Avoxes, some of what happened in the arena, snippets of things, or are those what really happened? because memory is weird and malleable and pliable, especially when tracker jacker poison is involved.
My muse is sick sometimes, so I have to apologize for it. So, yes here there be TORTURE. You have been warned.

People always assumed that Plutarch Heavensbee was grateful for his last name, but it was his first that he was truly attached to. Sure, Heavensbee was a strong name. Powerful, sometimes. Wealthy beyond imagination, always. After all, his great, great, ect grandfather was the Father of Panem. So it was a good name. A really good name, unless you were also a Plutarch, which he was.

The day they got out of the arena, Peeta’s world ends. Here he is, in the comfort of district 13 while Katniss is captured by the Capitol. Anguished by the mere idea of what is happening to her, all that’s stopping him from taking off alone to go save her is the reassurance her rescue is top priority and a large dose of morphling.
Meanwhile Katniss believes she is left alone in a cold, cruel world where President Snow thinks he can use her as a weapon against the rebellion. No matter what it takes, he will turn her into the perfect weapon, the very person who sparked the rebellion will be the one to squash it as well.
