Katie Bryce came in on a gurney from the helipad, still in her hospital gown from wherever they'd transferred her from, looking around like she'd already decided this place wasn't good enough. "This hospital probably doesn't even have the right kind of water."
Lord give me strength.
The interns trailed in behind her and positioned themselves near the nurses' station like they were jockeying for the best view. The attending was barking orders, full neuro and CBC and chem panel and tox screen and CT and MRI, while the interns hovered like vultures, waiting for assignments, desperate to prove something. Bailey directed traffic.
"Grey. Katie Bryce. A nurse pages you, you run. Got it?"
"Yes."
"O'Malley. Burke's service, cardio." O'Malley's face lit up.
"Yang. Labs, all of them." Yang was already moving.
"Stevens. Rectal exams, med-surg." Stevens' face fell before she caught it, forced the smile back.
"Moss. Post-ops, med-surg." Moss nodded, but her mouth pressed into a line for half a second first.
They scattered, and Bailey watched them go.
Let's see who survives.
