Summary
A century and half ago, Vash Saverem crashed Project SEEDS into an uninhabited planet in an effort to gain control over the human race. His twin brother Nai has been dragged kicking and screaming into saving humanity when he'd really rather just leave them alone. But while the two of them have fought to a standstill on No Man's Land, things are about to become a lot more complicated with the imminent arrival of Earth's military.
Nai and his allies race to warn the Earth fleet of the danger posed by his brother, while Vash has plans to use the Earth ships to take power on No Man's Land, once and for all.

Vash’s heart skips a beat, or two, or three. Perhaps it stopped altogether. It might as well, and pull him straight from the living world into Hell or Heaven or whatever afterlife there is for a man like him, because he’s looking at the face of a dead man.
The sunlight from the broken windows shines across the priest’s face, highlighting the arch of his nose, the sharp angle of his cheekbones, the stubble on his jaw, the warm dark skin under jet black hair. He wears a smile, that damned smile, the one that was shared with Vash so rarely yet burned itself into his retinas regardless, where it quirks up at one side and crinkles at the edges of his eyes. His robe is undone, revealing a simple grey button up shirt beneath, done up to only halfway up his chest. A rosary hangs below his collarbones.
The priest steps down from the altar, hesitant. "Hey, are you good? You look like you're gonna hurl."

Vash ends up in New July City to visit some Independent PLANTs. His past, unfortunately, shows up in the form of a priest with warm skin and a bright smile, and he doesn't think he can outrun it this time.

The Wolfwood family is wiped out by the empire of No Man's Land led by the young emperor Millions Knives. The only survivor left is Nicholas, the last heir of the Wolfwoods. He is captured by imperial soldiers and sent to No Man's Land to be executed. But Prince Vash, Knives's twin brother, manages to save him by imploring his brother to make him his personal slave. However, this desire hides another one: to support Prince Wolfwood by helping him to reconquer his kingdom Hopeland. From there, the two men agree to collaborate together. However, a mutual attraction and feelings of love begin to arise between Vash and Wolfwood. What could be better than a pure and sincere love during these times of misery, you may ask? Unfortunately, this love is born in the midst of an imperial court filled with people willing to do anything to gain power. Vash and Wolfwood will have to fight against the many plots and dirty tricks in order to guarantee the liberation of Hopeland and the survival of their love.

It’s hard to say whether it’s Vash’s first birthday without his brother, because he hasn’t told anyone when Knives died yet, but it’s definitely his first birthday where you all know he’s alive that he’ll be spending without his brother. To put it plainly, it’s not really about actually celebrating—though you imagine you’ll be doing a bit of that, too—it’s more about making sure he makes it through the day without wanting to die.

La famille Wolfwood est anéanti par l’empire de No Man’s Land mené par le tout jeune empereur Millions Knives. Il ne reste plus comme survivant Nicholas, dernier héritier des Wolfwood. Ce dernier est capturé par les soldats impériaux et envoyés à No Man’s Land afin de se faire exécuter. Mais le prince Vash, le frère jumeau de Knives, réussit à le sauver en implorant son frère d’en faire son esclave personnel. Toutefois, cette volonté en cache une tout autre : celle de soutenir le prince Wolfwood en l’aidant à reconquérir son royaume Hopeland. De là, les deux hommes acceptent de collaborer ensemble. Cependant, une attirance mutuelle et des sentiments amoureux commencent à surgir entre Vash et Wolfwood. Quoi de mieux qu’un amour pur et sincère durant ces temps de misère, me direz-vous? Malheureusement, cette amour naît au sein d’une cour impériale rempli de personnes prêtent à tout pour gagner en puissance. Chronica’s gaze shifts down to the lighter. “Would you mind smoking somewhere else?” she asks with a fair bit of scorn. “It smells horrible, and the smoke is harmful to plants, you know.”
Wolfwood already has a retort ready on his tongue when she drops that little piece of information. He’s trying to quit, he’s smoking ten cigarettes a day now instead of thirty- except he’s still doing it around Vash. Who’s still a plant, even if he used up all his mystical energy. Who is apparently being harmed by the cigarette smoke that Wolfwood has been blowing into his face, kissing straight into his lungs, sometimes even filling their motel room with a horrible chain smoking habit.
How many times has he smoked around Vash? It’s got to be in the hundreds- maybe even thousands.
Wolfwood feels vaguely uneasy.
wolfwood finds out smoking is bad for plants. then he remembers that vash is also technically a plant. he contemplates his choices- in that order.
