Ouma knows his script. He knows how to pose, grin, giggle, sneer for the cameras, how to make himself obnoxious in the most endearing, entertaining way, how to wrap the film reel around his finger until it’s spinning just the way he wants it to.
But now it isn’t.
And really, he can’t blame it, because Saihara and Iruma are unfathomable together. One vulgar, brash, equal parts eye candy and comic relief. One reserved, thoughtful, protagonist material down to the cowlick curling up from his dark hair. Iruma cackles and Saihara winces and Iruma elbows him in the side because come on, it was funny.
After the first trial, Saihara makes a different friend.

Summary
Hajime bites his lip. He just asserted that it had to be Momota dead, but even with that it feels wrong talking about him in the past tense. They don’t really know yet. Still, Shirogane looks so upset—Hajime reaches over to touch her shoulder, trying to comfort her even as his stomach continues to churn.
At least he got to see Momota again beforehand. That’s more than anyone else here got. But the idea that Momota could have died, alone at Ouma’s hands, before any of them could say goodbye and after everything he did for them… It makes Hajime feel sick. Truly sick, like he could copy Yumeno and throw up. He swallows, trying to ignore the feeling as he climbs onto the elevator beside Shirogane.
They’ll know during the trial. But if Momota really did die in there… ridiculous, compassionate Momota who saved Hajime’s life back after Akamatsu died… Hajime hopes Ouma is ready for what’s going to come after they figure it out.
