He staggered for a moment, blinking rapidly, clearly fighting the urge to pass out with a disoriented groan, before ultimately crumpling onto the stone floor in a heap.

Instead of being dragged back down to Hell, Crowley gets to enjoy a little bit more time on Earth. Unfortunately, he's made himself tiny again and is too addled to remember how to turn himself back to normal size.
“Crowley...? You’re still small.”
“I know!” Crowley turned around and sat down on the ground, fuming. Aziraphale could see the barest wisps of smoke coming up from where he was sitting.
“Is something wrong? And please don’t set the grass on fire. You know what happened last time.”

It was a nice day, but all the days Crowley had spent with Aziraphale had been nice. He felt the sunlight hit his body through the blinds that Azirphale stubbornly refused to close—Her natural lighting, Crowley, Aziraphale had always insisted—and felt himself wake up, bit by bit, hissing in annoyance as he did, preferring to sleep in his snake form whenever he could. He curled himself even tighter around Aziraphale, a bit miffed that Aziraphale hadn't even opened his eyes because of the movement, though a little gratified all the same.

As he's idly scanning the room, somewhat lost in thought, something catches his eye--a little purple nub peeking out of the cracked-open closet door. Aziraphale had asked him not to open any doors or drawers, but since this one is already slightly ajar, Crowley doesn't see the harm in investigating.
