Summary
He went to sleep in an inn in Port Damali. He woke up in a small, stone cell. It was ten feet wide, twelve feet long, and seven feet tall. The stone was tan, and cool to the touch during the day, but warm at night. There was a pipe in the ceiling that stretched up about five feet. It provided fresh air, and light. He could at least count the days. He had a bed of straw, simple linen tunic and trousers, a bucket in the corner... and a blank, leatherbound journal. Every morning when he woke, there was food, water and sticks of charcoal in his cell. He didn't know how they got there. He never saw them being delivered. He never saw... anyone. He only saw the inside of his cell. Time ticked away... Hours. Days. Weeks... the mind can only take so much, before it begins to break... He never realized just how agonizing torture without physical tools could be.
