For what it was worth, the Queen knew that this all sounded absurd. Alicent had chosen her over her own son and by all standards of common sense she should have dismissed it as a trap, as another power play orchestrated by the Greens to trick her and her family into hurtling towards assured death, eliminating their claim to the Iron Throne once and for all.
But the way Alicent had recklessly come to Dragonstone alone and defenceless knowing full-well she would most likely be captured or killed putting her life squarely in Rhaenyra’s hands. The way her voice trembled, and her big brown eyes swelled with tears as she offered Rhaenyra King’s Landing and the Throne with it. The way come with me practically tumbled out of her as a desperate, incredulous plea. All of this convinced Rhaenyra that this was no coldly calculated, pre-conceived plan.

Set after 2x08, this work explores what might happen when Rhaenyra flies to take King's Landing and Alicent discovers Aegon is missing. Unapologetic rantings about the feelings these two have for each other in my mind.

Dragon sightings were common in Westeros, as the house of Targaryen flew the skies while watching their subjects from dragonback. From the Reach, the Iron Islands to Harennhal, rumors of the white haired Valyrians that flew their way made it into the towns and villages of these places. Rumors of white haired children have always floated around.These rumors never failed to grace the presence of the lowborns. It was easy to know where they came from, just by the color of their head, if you're fortunate enough, the amethyst shade of their eyes.
In Harennhal, this rumor was a hidden truth. Lyonel Strong’s oldest child was a bastard born from a white-haired purple eyed woman he’d met near the God’s Eye, who was rumored to be a bastard daughter of the late King Jaeherys. It was this instance that made for a quick betrothal to a highborn lady and an even quicker birth of his second child who would be heir. Of whom this woman really was, it was a mystery to everyone including the child. He kept the child, gave her a name, a title, and servants. But despite his efforts to recognize the child as a trueborn, in certain lights, her light blonde hair has a sheen of lightness that may dare to question her true heritage.
