Summary
This is something a bit different, as far as series go. At its simplest, it's an elaboration on the Firefly storyline. I've expanded the stage from a solar system to a galaxy, added magic, another empire, and some new villains.
What's unusual about the format is that you don't have to follow the entire series. There are a half-dozen independent story arcs, set mostly between the U-War and Firefly/Serenity-present (about 15 years). Each arc involves different characters and fandoms. Occasionally they'll cross; this will hopefully happen more frequently as the series progresses and the bigger, underlying conflict comes to a head. But at this point the story arcs (and, really, most of the stories) can be read separately.
