Summary
This is my most ambitious series so far, Apophis, give me strength! Through a succession of short stories, "Slow burn" pretends to explore Jack and Daniel's feelings for each other as they grow during their years in SG-1, episode by episode. Although the first 3 seasons contain continuous references to Daniel/Sha're I eluded tagging this relationship to avoid confusing the readers. "Slow burn" is everything about Jack/Daniel and at some point it will end up being explicit slash. The idea is to post at least one or two stories weekly, so this is going to be a long journey. Let's see how it goes! What is it left to say? Enjoy!

No waiting for each other.” He fixes her gaze. “We let this… go.” He really sounds like he means it. He’s even making it sound like it’d be possible. “Or… instead of waiting until we win the war, we-” He stumbles over how exactly to put this second option delicately, and without losing his cool. “We do this – this thing between us – now.” His insides flip saying it; hers do too, hearing it. “We keep it secret, from everyone. We risk it all and explore… this. Now.”

Set in the immediate aftermath of 'Divide and Conquer S4E5'
[Warning: Adult Content]After the loss of Martouf and revelations made during the zatarg testing, Sam leaves the mountain distraught and questioning everything she believed about herself. Jack ultimately seeks her out and they finally lay everything out on to the table. I sometimes wonder why Jack caught onto Sam's meaning in Divide and Conquer when she was being vague about her meaning with the Zatarc machines and why even later in Beneatht he surface "Feeling--feelings" still meant so much to them, even when their memories are wiped, they still have something!
This is where all those double meaning come from.
