Summary
Hylia's Hero died saving her kingdom and entire world. On the third anniversary of his death, Hylia's son was kidnapped, and a prophecy declared that Hylia's beloved world would fall to Demise's Calamitous curse unless her hero stood in the way. Problem was, with her husband and son gone, Hylia had no hero to save the various kingdoms of her world. And so she had to make one.
In the end she made three. Three heroes who could be her sons if she didn't lose herself in her grief first.

Link had thought he made his intentions clear the last time he visited Zelda at the castle, but when he and the others like him stumbled through a portal into the heart of Kakariko, and the smithy’s eye caught on a flyer promoting a tournament where the victor would earn the opportunity to win the princess’ heart, Link realized he may not have been as straight-forward as he thought.
