Summary
John Laurens is a single dad after he and Martha got divorced and she went no-contact. He is called to Frances’ school because her teacher, Mr. Lafayette, wants to see what’s going on at home.
Lafayette is also a divorced dad with a son but a good relationship with his ex-wife. He wants to help John and they start to get closer.
But due to John’s personal issues, it’s not easy. That and the pressure from around them might jeopardize their relationship before it even begins.

Summary
Prospective hockey player, John Laurens, is a senior at Hunter College in Brooklyn, NYC. He rejected the NHL draft for the Carolina Hurricanes three times before he hit the age he no longer qualified. At 19, he had moved up north with his closest friend, Hercules, so he could catch a breath of a fresh start. Now he was 21 and team captain of the Hunter Hawks’ State Hockey Team, with the NY Rangers snaking into his life every which way, trying to convince him to try out. The biggest thing keeping him from living that dream was his beloved daughter, Frances. He couldn’t imagine a world where he wasn’t her father, and he didn’t want the NHL to take that pride from him.
On the opposite end of the stick, there was Alexander Hamilton, recognized for his copybook ability to fall apart. However, the entrance of one Ms. Frances Laurens into Philip's life brings far more adventure than he could've ever expected.
Nothing in Philip's life will ever be the same again. Together with his siblings, Frances, and John, he embarks on a quest to save his father and to change the world forever, all through a mysterious book that appears one morning.
