Especially when a “supervillain”’s family bonding time consists of battering their team and indirectly bringing about Earth’s decimation.

Summary
After the fall of Asgard and the attack on the Statesman, Thor lies on life support in the New Avengers Facility, balanced on the knife-edge between life and death. Loki—wrung out, furious, and grieving—finds an unexpected ally in Tony Stark, who is determined to keep Thor from dying on his watch.
Desperate for a solution, Tony tracks down a brilliant but reclusive former neurosurgeon named Stephen Strange in a last-ditch medical consultation. It takes all of one minute for Tony to decide Strange is their guy. With Strange's reluctant offer to help, Tony and Loki finally feel like they're getting somewhere.
Stephen tries to keep a professional distance from Tony and Loki (especially Loki). He has secrets he doesn't need the Avengers knowing. His own personal war. His own private hell. Summary
Warrior braids.
It is an old Asgardian tradition. The braids are reserved for the most distinguished warriors, indicating their high status. When they were little, Odin had chastised them for braiding each other’s hair when they played warrior. “You will only receive your braids when you are worthy.”
Loki had long since given up on the idea of ever receiving his braids, but he knew Thor had learnt all the techniques, just in case.
“Do you like them?” Thor asks again, looking at him expectantly, one hand brushing over one of the braids subconsciously.
Loki realises too late he had been staring at his brother for a moment too long before he answers. “No.”
It is not a fair response, and it is a lie, led by the jealousy swirling in his stomach.~~~
In which Thor loses his warrior braids, and Loki deals with the fallout.
Or, author saw Thor freaking out about cutting his hair in Ragnarok and said "yes make this angst"

Loki realises he's unrecognisable and decides to take it in his stride. He renames himself Elias and tries to live his life as a normal teenager but nothing in Loki's life ever comes that easy.

Summary
Loki was many things, but one of his little-known habits was his curiosity, or rather the fact that he acted on it without necessarily thinking about the consequences. Well, it was more that he did not care, to be honest. Loki is a scientist at heart, he likes to test things, so what could be better for a magical being like him than to have the Tesseract? Of course, he was going to experiment with it, what was Thor thinking?
Oh, yes... Thor did not know. It did not matter though. It was a detail.
Except when said detail led him to a Thor with TWO natural eyes, an adoptive father conveniently falling into a magical coma to let him deal with the shitty foreign policy – with an impending war, had he forgotten? – and a still-living mother who had always been too perceptive for her own good. Bloody witches.

For such powerful alphas as Thor and Odin, they viewed all omegas within their family unit as theirs, and so, after Thor fully matured as an alpha, it became hard for them to tolerate one another, even though they were father and son. Frigga was one thing. She and Thor smelled like mother and son.
The real problem was Loki, Odin's brother.
"Thor really adores Loki," Frigga said, smiling.
