Caranthir opened his eyes in the early morning light, the room still and silent about him. Haleth was warm and soft where she was slumped into his shoulder, her neck at an awkward angle. The embers of the fire had burned out, leaving the room chill. The lump under the blankets had not moved at all during the night, the soft rise and fall of the elf's chest underneath the only proof that he was still alive.

Summary
The table Bilbo was escorted to was sized for dwarves, which meant he had no problem at all fitting into the chairs. It was Elrond and Celebrimbor – though not so much the latter since he was smaller than the average elf – that had more problems. Lobelia and Celebrían had been swept up with Lady Disa – “No need to call me Queen, dear, there are a pile of us here, just Disa, or Lady Disa if you like” – at the head table where all the other ladies seem to have congregated. That was a worry all in and of itself right there.
