San had always adored Halloween. He loved seeing the little kids running around for candy, the people dressing up, all of the festivals and haunts that occurred once a year, and the comradery that came with the holiday. But, most of all, San absolutely adored being scared.
“You are. You’re afraid of me.”
“I am not afraid of you.”
“Then why can I smell how scared you are? The smell, the fear, is dripping off of you.”
Naturally, San gathered three of his closest friends and forced them to go with him to a haunt that Halloween. They were all dressed up, giddy, and ready to be slightly scared for their own amusement. What could possibly go wrong?

His hands are freezing cold and he fumbles a little bit when he reaches for his keys, unlocking the door. A rush of warm air greets him and San stumbles his way into the foyer, letting his backpack drop with a wet thud.
