“Step away from the car,” Bruce said, his voice deep and steady.
The kid froze.
He turned slowly, and time seemed to stand still for a moment. The boy looked no older than fourteen, skinny and frail, with wrists that seemed fragile. His wet black curls clung to his forehead. His pale skin, almost ghostly under the streetlight, made the bruises along his jaw more noticeable. But it was his eyes huge, bright blue, wide with fear and defiance that struck Bruce the hardest.
“I wasn’t... I wasn’t stealing! Okay man?!” the boy stammered, his small voice trembling with anger.<

The grave dirt still clung beneath his fingernails.
He stumbled barefoot across the Gotham cemetery, shirt stiff, skin gray from the earth. His lungs rattled, his ribs ached, and the moon above looked too white, too sharp, like a blade. Every step was agony; every breath, a fight against the coffin that still seemed to close in around him.
He didn’t know his name. Not yet. He didn’t know who he’d been or why the taste of blood felt so familiar on his tongue. All he knew was that he had been dead, and now he wasn’t.
The boy wandered through cracked headstones and rusted iron fences, until the city’s glow swallowed the night. He moved on instinct: alleys, shadows, avoiding headlights, avoiding people. Gotham was a monster, and something inside him whispered that it had already eaten him once.

At first glance Thomas was sure the victim was already long gone, just a burned, mangled husk attached to tubes and wires. But he was shocked to see that the heart monitor was slowly beeping. “What happened?” Thomas immediately questioned. “There was an explosion in an abandoned building around Park Row. He was found in the rubble. He was resuscitated on the scene and coded once in the ambulance. Aside from severe burns, broken bones and trauma the worst injury seems to be a wound at his throat caused by a sharp object.” They rattled off more information as Thomas quickly prepped for surgery. Every second was going to have to count to save this one.

Jason dies in the explosion after his throat is cut by Batman's batarang. But somehow he wakes up he in an alternate universe where Thomas and Martha Wayne didn't die, and Bruce never became Batman. Lost and alone Jason struggles with his injuries and his own existence, but the Waynes are determined to help him every step of the way. Jason finds himself the pseudo older brother to a teenage Dick and a baby Damian. Little do the Wayne's know that Jason has a knack for "adopting" kids. He starts with his own tiny counterpart.

Jason thought he would feel better after this. With his bloody hands holding a stained crowbar, he really didn't feel better at all. If anything, Jason definitely felt worse.
OR: Jason avenged himself for what the Joker did to him. Before the Joker could die, Jason stopped himself, completely hollow and unsure. Dick was the one who found him, then, covered in blood in front of the barely-alive body.

Summary
The Batfam breaks into Danny’s apartment to investigate him, not knowing Danny's in rut. Jason and Danny both died, and only other people who’ve died can smell them. Danny tries to convince the Batfam to leave for their own safety, and Jason is arguing with Batman and asking why he brought Jason. Danny immediately teleports to grab him, and he portals them away to safety in the Infinite Realms.
The Batfam freaks for a little bit while Danny helps Jason stabilize his core. Danny portals them back onto a roof, and Jason activates his comm. Everyone flips out, thinking he’s just been kidnapped, but Jason tries to calm them down as much as possible. Danny is cooperative, but he restates several times that they broke into his home, and he thought it was an attack. He didn’t want Jason caught in the crossfire, especially since he saw him and Batman arguing.
"There’s a flash of green, and he’s being collected into the stranger’s arms and tipped backward. Jason can barely register that they’re traveling through a portal with how good the Alpha smells.
Forgetting all of his training, all of the drills, everything, Jason closes his eyes and lets himself fall."

Three weeks later Dick Grayson finds his wallet curiously absent after a collision with a young boy on the street.
Dick and Bruce join forces to find the talented young boy.
