He wasn’t there. He was thinking about the words he’d have for a dead man. That wasn’t right. Funerals were never for the dead, they were for the living. He’d be the one who’d remain responsible for their little family, while his heart went in that coffin to be burned with Eddie.

What starts as a simple drug deal should stay a simple drug deal. Chrissy isn’t looking for a friend, or anything more. But when things start to get worse, not just for her, but for the town, she finds herself turning to one person who never judged or pressured her into being something that she’s not.
Then a Hawkins High student is brutally murdered and all hell breaks loose.
(A ST4 reimagining, with Vecna torturing his victims for months before spring break, fleshing out the other victims storylines and layering in as much angst and trauma as I can. Topped off with a happy ending.)

Summary
The thing about being told that you are bullshit is that it puts a lot of things in perspective. Steve Harrington, King of Hawkins High, was bullshit according to one Nancy Wheeler. A fact that if he really thought about it made sense. Barb's death was his fault more than it was Nancy's. He held that guilt with him once they realized what had happened to her. He just didn't show it. Maybe that was part of the problem, not just admitting those feelings to Nancy and pretending to be okay made him bullshit. Or maybe Nancy was just able to finally tell him the truth and stop pretending to love him.
Either way, their relationship was over and he was left to try and move on. It didn't help that Tommy H was giving him shit, or that Billy Hargrove wouldn't stop looking at him like that. He tried to just go back to what it was before, be who he used to be but he couldn't. Nothing was the same and it wouldn't ever be the same. It was all just...bullshit right?
