Summary
Valerie got out of 2 year coma to find out the world and all her friends moved on. She tries to find her new place in Night City, rebuild her life and right some wrongs. V and River bump into each other and it seems neither of them want to admit that they still have unresolved feelings. Both of them changed drastically and they need to get to know each other again. Maybe reconnecting does not make sense anymore- or maybe it's a chance to make things work. This is the fix-it that I needed and that I'm giving myself. This is my first work.

Summary
V gets a call from a stranger asking to meet. Then this stranger says he’s a detective and starts asking questions V doesn’t want to answer. Problem is, she can’t seem to shake him, plus he gives her the warm fuzzies and Johnny hates it. Maybe keeping cops from getting too close was a rule that was meant to be broken.
This was inspired by a theory I saw somewhere that River was originally going to be the one that found V in the landfill. I wanted to explore how that could've looked plus further development in V and River's relationship.

Summary
Alt estimated she’d have six months left to live but V refused to accept it - refused to die. Refused a life without her hunky detective in it. So V returns to Night City. V returns home.
Set post-game long after the Star ending, which for me was one of the better endings but still left me heartbroken when River chose to stay behind. And since I doubt CDPRED is going to, I'm making it up to myself with this fanfic, a personally cathartic love letter of sorts to my favorite romance in the game, and a better ending to V's story (with River) than any of them that we were given, in my personal opinion. ^^

Summary
The last thing River Ward expected while sitting at the dinner table with his family was to get a distressed call from someone who sounded like his buddy V but called himself Johnny. Jumping into action, he discovers the best Merc in Night City cornered by a gang of Maelstrom Scum. Normally, he wouldnt be worried, but it turns out said Merc was in heat and very much in need of the PI’s help in more ways than one.
This brings shock and conflict to River’s mind. He could appreciate an attractive guy, but he wasn’t really into men. Then again, V wasnt just any man, he was the one who brought Randy back, brought himself back to his family, made his family happy. He didn’t know what his feelings were for the Omega, but he knew he would do anything for him.

Summary
Escaping death is something most people would be lucky to do once. V though is a bit luckier than most, cheating death twice, but not unscathed. She's made, and lost, some great chooms along the way. A few of those chooms have to come together and help her start the next path after her second revival. And now that the fires have settled will she finally feel ready to let one of those chooms get a little closer?
TLDR: Following Mikoshi V gets a third chance at happy life in Night City, and a certain ex-badge is along for the whole ride.

Summary
Parting ways with River and distancing herself from him after their intimate night, especially when all she craved was to be held by him, proved to be an incredibly challenging task for V. Nevertheless, it was the right choice to make.
But now, in her delirious and dying state, V finds herself at River's doorstep, of all the people, seeking help or perhaps a final goodbye. Little does she know by doing so, she would unleash a torrent of emotions, thrusting herself into an internal struggle.
Unaware that the ensuing days spent with River and his family will propel her past a point of no return. -

“Jesus, V. Can’t a guy get some decent smokes sometime?”
V laughed, pulling out the sky blue one. She’d over stuffed it, but it looked like exactly what she needed right now.
Seemed like she’d stumbled on another stupid big something. And here she was, hoping it could just be another Thursday.
“It is another Thursday,” Johnny said, “We’re always falling into some stupid shit.” He punctuated that by taking a drag of his own digital smoke. She nodded, lighting her own smoke up, glad the blood had dried enough that she wasn’t getting any smeared on the paper.

“Oh thank you, detective,” V clasped her hands together in a mocking swoon as she watched River heave his way up the steps and away into the night.
“So,” Vik began, “Not a friend I’m likely to see again?”
“Not a friend. Not likely to see him again. In fact, if I even mention him again, do me a favor and hit me with that mean right hook, will ya?”River and V might actually hate each other. But those closest to them wonder if there might be a different kind of fire between them.

River contemplated that, and she could not have been more correct. He has had it rough growing up, just as so many other poor kids have in this city. He recalls something that she said the night before. That she could forget about all the bullshit when she looked at him. That he helps makes it better for her. He liked that, loved that he could be that person for her.
“Well, I will always try to make my mornings with you simple, V if that's what you want. I have nothing else I’d rather be doing.”

At the conclusion of Part 1 - Pyramid Surveillance, The Guardian Angels, down a member of their group, call up a replacement, a former NCPD detective named River Ward, who has specialized in finding missing persons. The new gig is right up his alley, a missing woman named Carolyn Ames. Out of contact with her parents for over nearly two days, a situation they find unnerving, they contact their local fixer in Santo to hire a merc or three to find their missing daughter. The story picks up the next day after the incident in Japantown, with the former members of the group of veteran mercs taking up new identities as they search the city for the missing woman with the help of their new 'new guy'.

Tale as old as time - woman pulls heist, woman loses friends and credibility, woman ends up alone with a Night City Legend erasing her identity and replacing it with his own. Not by my choice, I'd add. Things seemed manageable for V alone until they weren't anymore, and she found herself on a path that put her in front of Detective River Ward. She's thankful she met the badge, and I'm just thankful she waited to fuck him 'til after he changed careers.
V never fucking listens to me, but maybe this time... it'll turn out better than I'm expecting it to.
