Summary
What if fate dealt Ram a different hand—what if it wasn’t Sita but Lakshman who was whisked away by the forces of darkness? In this mind-bending twist of the Ramayana, the very heart of the epic is upended.
Instead of the familiar quest to rescue a beloved wife, Ram is forced into a desperate search for his loyal brother, setting off a chain reaction of divine challenges, epic battles, and a redefinition of duty and destiny.

Dionysia, or The Orphic Ramayana by Nintinugga
Fandoms: Ramayana - Valmiki, Bacchae - Euripides
26 Jun 2024
Tags
Summary
Dionysia is the Ramayana reflected as Orphic or Pythagorean scripture. The Universal Spirit, conceptualised as Dionysos in the Orphic religion, enters the world as Rama, Prince of Ayodhya. His destiny and purpose in incarnating is to destroy Ravana of Lanka, the Second Pentheus.
Both Rama and Ravana are inexorably pulled towards one another, and towards their Fate. Rama realizes his divinity, loses his humanity to the god Whose incarnation he is; while Ravana undergoes a descent into madness and frenzy which mirrors that of Pentheus in the Bacchae. Sita, meanwhile, is the thread which binds them together, the Instrument of Fate.
Dionysia is a reading of the Ramayana through the lens of Euripides. It is my answer to Valmiki, my explanation of how I read his text and why I do not always agree with what he says.
The only answer worthy of Valmiki is a complete rewrite of his Epic. My source texts are wonders of the ancient world; I can only hope to do them justice.

Summary
Lakshman sneaks into Indrajeet's cave as he bathes, intending to kill the half-demon (quarter-demon, technically) crown prince of Lanka. He just fails to account for one thing: When a man bathes, he strips. Sometimes, completely.

Summary
A tale of two women's misfortunes. Vanara queen Tara and Kumbhakarna's widow Karkoti. As after fall of Lanka Vanara army invaded Karkoti's kingdom Sahyadri for being Lanka's ally and makes her slave queen to please Vanaras on expense of granting her child's life. She vows revenge and seeks Ravana's demonic older brother Shatanan Ravana's help who attacks Kishkindhya and in absence of Sugreeva captures Tara who had a tiff with co wife Ruma and was living alone. Thus Tara becomes slave queen of Shatanan Ravana who likes to share his things as pleases. Only help from Ayodhya can save her now.
Based on Advut Ramayana , Bichitra Ramayana and regional or folk Ramayana where Sita slayed Dashanana Raavana's demonic older brother Shatanana/Sahasranana Raavana. And Vanar armies are more uncivilised and brutal towards Raksasas and assaults Raksasa queen's. I have twisted the tale

A Ramayana Retelling
Sita walks back into Ayodhya not as a queen, but as a woman shaped by exile. Urmila counts the years in silence, her loyalty unacknowledged. Mandavi, always steady, finds her faith tested in a world that doesn't reward stillness. And Bharat—grief-stricken, duty-bound—must lead a kingdom while mourning a brother who was never truly gone.
The Return is a reflective reimagining of the Ramayana, told not through battles and dharma, but through longing, loss, love, and quiet defiance.
What does it mean to return—to a palace, to a relationship, to oneself—when everything familiar feels changed? -

Summary
We are but dust in the hands of Time, however strung together by rubies the scarlet of blood.
Through his drunken haze of victory at his mortal nemesis finally succumbing, and the ungodly pride of whisking his limp body away to his castle as a spoil of war; Indrajit had long forsaken the shroud of honour so ingrained in his very veins.
However, choosing to let him live- so that, as he believes, he can be a masterstroke at an unlikely dire hour- would prove a mistake to the warrior who made even the gods
susceptible.
In accomodating the princely ascetic, and navigating a complex melee where love and hate blur into one, both the impervious warriors would have to let go of their fair share of pride and prejudice. -

Summary
Yuga: One of the four ages of the world; also, a yoke.
Twice, an incarnation brought with him a companion: Lakshmana and Balarama. Each was so close to their counterpart - Rama and Krishna, respectively - that they are commonly accepted to be incarnations of Vasuki, or Adishesha - the companion of Vishnu. On Vaikuntha, and on Earth, they were near inseparable.

Summary
And Sita is here, safe and sound, and Rama, who laughs and smiles unabashedly, and Lakshman - Lakshman, his eyes tender, happy, joyous. There are so many things Urmila has to say, so many questions, so many reproaches, so many apologies and so many tears - but when their eyes meet again, an unspoken promise of love and reassurance passing between them, she is happy enough to wait.
