Carefully he unbuttons the top of his shirt and rolls up the sleeves. Pushes back his hair.
Listen, says Liu Xiao, soft. His finger skates across Tianchen’s bare skin; goosebumps prickle up his arms. Do you hear that? The beat of your own heart?

The artificially-fake smile on Liu Xiao’s face would make anyone else think they’ve upset him, but Li Tianchen knows Liu Xiao well, knows his strangeness and odd intensity and pretentiousness the way knowing someone for a very long time settles into your bones. So, he doesn’t think Liu Xiao is mad, but he can tell Liu Xiao is judging him when he says, “it’s in bad form to adopt bad habits that drive the fans away.”
“Yeah, because the gambling isn’t a bad habit,” Li Tianchen mutters, but he keeps his eyes on the bright-orange flame.

He's losing the battle he stubbornly carried on for years against himself...maybe Lu Guang’s yielding was an inevitable outcome.

He felt insatiably warm and despite it being able to be reasoned as the summer heat, the AC was on in Liu Xiao's living room and the pink haired man had put it on full blast that his sister had started to complain with repetitive sounds of discomfort from the cold. Liu Xiao was sitting across of him on the single armchair and started to pick up on the smell of discomfort that was practically reeking in the room.
Li Tianchen had put on suppressants just that morning and now he was feeling unbearable heat pooling through his body and especially his stomach. He was sure his heat started later next month, and it usually never came so early before the expected date.
