Yasha doesn’t roll her eyes, but she feels the urge, like an itch just behind her optic nerve. It’s been three days since the Nein fled from the astral sea, three days since she let go of Beau’s hand and let the plane shift carry them back to wherever was safest, because someone needed to stay behind to hold Lucien’s attention. She knows they’ll plane shift back soon to come and get her. She knows Beau is going to be furious when she gets here. It had to be done, though, because if Lucien has something shiny and new to pander to his ego then he isn’t trying to make a Nonagon out of Beau or Caleb or anyone else, and that’s something.
