Summary
It wasn’t long until an animation pulled up, it began showing Pomme and Richas. Forever’s hand instinctively reached up to touch the image of Richas, ingraining the image into his head. He turned briefly to look at Etoiles, seeing the man’s eyes soft as he watched his daughter in the animation. It almost seemed peaceful but Forever knew better and the dread he was feeling finally kicked in full force when he saw the little Richas moving around happily before suddenly stopping.

“I’m here because I’m supposed to be your bodyguard.” Etoiles blows a strand of white hair out of his eyes, irritated, and gives Quackity a hard stare. “Not like you would know anything about that, leaving the party in the middle without giving me a single warning. It’s like you want me to lose my job.”
“If I die, you lose it anyway.”
“You’re right. I would lose it if you died.”
Quackity’s smile turns rueful at that, but he says nothing. He turns his eyes back to the city, sighing out a murky cloud. The end of his cigarette glows red, then fades to ashy grey.
