Ellis at a very young age had an operation done that removed his penis. He required a Penectomy because of penile cancer. He grew up ashamed of it and didn't like to show people it. This makes it hard to romantically pursue people because they want to take it further into the bedroom. He gains an interest in his teammate Nick. Things get sticky for Ellis and it seems Nick might find out. Will this change how Nick feels about him?

Nick had expected to die the moment he realized he'd fallen out of the chopper. He didn't though. Apparently, he was caught in midair by some little brat named "Dal." That would've been a good thing if the kid wasn't a Hunter. It would've been an even better thing if he would leave Nick alone. Apparently, "go away" is too much to ask for in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.

A novelization of Left 4 Dead 2 that follows the four survivors through each campaign and shows their progression from strangers to comrades. Excellent portrayal of the desire for human connection and the concept of humans as social animals in a context where base survival needs strip away individual segregating differences. Coach, Ellis, Nick, and Rochelle would likely not be friends in their normal lives, and interpersonal conflicts occur over the course of the plot, but this fic demonstrates the inevitability of their friendship for survival.
Told in third person with switching POVs. Rated M for violence throughout, along with one sex scene. 18k+ words.
Plot spoilers:
Nick accidentally outs himself as gay during a drinking game on Virgil's boat, and Ellis is initially homophobic. Later, Ellis and Rochelle have sex one night when Rochelle washes up.
Once the survivors get to New Orleans and are tasked with crossing the bridge in the game's final chapter, they come to the grim agreement that with their time limit of 10 minutes to reach the helicopter, each person must fend for themselves. Ellis is incapacitated while crossing, and Nick stays behind to revive Ellis, not wanting him to die alone, while Coach and Rochelle continue to the helicopter. Ellis saves Nick from a charger, and kisses him in what the two both believe will be their last moments alive. In a sudden twist, Coach and Rochelle return for them heavily injured, with news that the pilot is willing to wait for their whole party. They all make it onto the helicopter.

There was only one seat on the chopper left, and his brother basically threw him in. Keith promised he’d be waiting for his family when they were all evacuated, and he intended to keep that promise… until the helicopter crashed.
Now, with nothing but a bloody guitar and his own thoughts to occupy him, he's hell-bent on racing Ellis to New Orleans.

One of the best Nick/Ellis fics I have read so far. Not only is the characterization of these 4 just so spot on, but the attention to detail in the world building is amazing. Also, the addition of minor characters to really flesh out this story makes it seem so real and really had me enthralled. If you are going to read a Nellis fic, let it be this one!

Summary
Nick and Ellis hate one another more than words can describe. The two haven't gotten along since day one and nothing would have changed that, right?
Then, Ellis gets bit and starts the long battle against the Green Flu, fighting off the earliest stages of infection. The rest begin searching for a cure- or at the very least, some kind of treatment, hoping to save him.
But when the team is attacked and separated, and their search is foiled, the enemies become stranded in what feels like nothing more than a paper town. The fear of what lies ahead forces them to band together in order to find their crew and fight the disease ravaging Ellis' body.
