Shortly after Gray Mann and his army were defeated, the team finds themselves back on base, in the middle of Nowhere, New Mexico, as the Administration is MIA. While they wait for instruction on their next move, life continues on in RED territory, presumably back to normal.
But everyone has their own battles to fight. The war is far from over.

Heartburn flareups, a habit of day drinking and a big fat crush on his closest friend and coworker. so he does what any reasonable man would do; keep up a lie that it isn't pyro and that it's actually a random woman who isn't actually real just so medic and spy don't make fun of him for falling in love with the pyromaniac.

Summary
After Pyro saves him from a particularly painful death at the hands of the BLU Spy during a match, Sniper realizes he scarcely knows their resident arsonist, and sets out to rectify that (to repay them for their help, obviously). When the RED team is sent off-base on a very important mission, it becomes clear just how lonely Mick has grown over the years. Luckily for him, Pyro is a patient sort, and more than happy to be the friend he needs.
And maybe, just maybe... Sniper is the friend that Pyro needs as well.

Pyro is practically buzzing with glee-- not exactly a rare sight, but certainly odd for this time of day and place. Normally, they only get this excited when a fire is in their nearby vicinity. Engineer is suddenly struck by a pang of panic. Surely he’d have smelled smoke if something had gone wrong outside, right?
“Err, what, uh, what brings you here son? I assume you’re not looking for a chitchat.”
Pyro shakes their head enthusiastically, instead holding up a crumpled sheet of paper, scribbles of all colours and shapes sprawling across the page.
