This work explores the evolution of Oscar "Spooky" Diaz as he goes from a man who's started dreaming about having adult problems to one who finally believes in himself enough to try and make them a reality. As with the rest of this series, this story is told through the eyes of the reader-insert OFC that Oscar's hoping will end up sharing some of those adult problems with him after they get an unexpected second chance to do things right with their relationship.
This is gonna go from relatively faithful AU to full-on canon-divergence pretty quickly and not just because of the black hole the show left when it came to his development. While the events in S4 definitely made sense for the tone of the show, let's be real- they did our boy dirty on quite a few different fronts, and what good is creative license if I can't heavily indulge in fix-it's to make my heart hurt a bit less?
