Summary
As they were returning back to their universe, Kira Nerys and Julian Bashir are under fire by the Alliance, unable to escape, their shuttle breaking around them. Julian is gravely injured, and Nerys knows that there's no chance at escape.
Someone transports them off their shuttle just in time, and brings them onto his own ship. Nerys is shocked to see that their hero is the Mirror Universe's Julian Bashir, and is even more surprised to find that she quickly develops feelings for him.
But how could she let herself fall in love with someone she could never have? And is he going to help them get back home, or does he have his own plans for them?

This fanfiction happens after Deep Space Nine's Season 4 Episode 13: Return to Grace. Gul Dukat has left with his cloaked Klingon warbird, with Major Kira Nerys and his daughter Tora Ziyal left behind on DS9. This takes place a few months after this, with a time jump. The whole Kira/O'Brien/Keiko pregnancy thing never happened, Keiko is still pregnant with her own baby and the accident never happened. Kira never becomes a surrogate for them in this work.
I do not own any of the Star Trek franchise, nor these characters. This is purely a work of fiction and does not happen in the canon Star Trek universe, or any universe for that matter. This is to show what could have been for Dukira fans.
