It's an especially clear night, and the river of stars stretching above them is bright and sparkling. The next settlement is still quite a distance away, so there's nothing to disrupt the view of the night sky—no artificial light besides Fenrir’s to distract from the lights above.
Finally, Sephiroth seems to have had his fill of the stars—for now—and leans against Cloud again with a sigh. His hands rest underneath Cloud’s jacket, fingers spread over his ribs above the tank top. His nose nudges the back of Cloud’s neck as he breathes in deeply and then all but nuzzles his face into Cloud’s hair.
On the handlebars, Cloud’s fingers briefly clench as he feels his cheeks start to blush.

Genesis first showed up in Edge not long after Advent Day and the Deepground incident.
While the adults in Edge are all still wary of the stranger with a single black wing, several kids eventually work up the courage to ask Cloud about Genesis’s wing and why he has it. Cloud, unsure if he wants to tell them the nightmare that was the true story, decides to make something up instead.
(Cloud isn’t a very good liar, it turns out. At least the kids find it entertaining. Genesis is a little less amused.)

"None taken," Cloud says, and from the way he shrugs a shoulder, he quite means it. "Still. Do you know how long?"
"No," Genesis closes his eyes and thinks. "The last year I remember…"
He murmurs it, surprised by how unsure he is of it, then opens his eyes. Cloud's face has taken a grim light, the fire's cast leaving a halo of light behind him.
"Genesis," Cloud says with more care than before, which already has Genesis worried. "I'm sorry. I think you've been under there for five years."
