You moved to dab at the deeper cut on his palm more carefully, but when your fingers brushed against his skin, you lingered, just a second longer than necessary. You could’ve sworn he flinched, but when you looked up, his eyes were fixed on you, intense, unreadable - like they were seeing something in you that you couldn’t quite grasp. "What?" You giggled.
His lips curled into a soft, knowing smile, the kind that made his eyes gleam with that mischievous spark. "You look cute when you're takin' care of me," he said, his voice low and quiet, the compliment hanging in the air like a delicate thread.
You didn't know why you felt so flustered. Maybe it was the compliment, or maybe it was the fact you were on your knees in front of him. Either way, It was impossible to ignore the warmth creeping up your neck. Johnny had this way of making the simplest moments feel loaded with something else - something you weren’t entirely ready to admit.

And then he won’t have to, and he could live in eternal darkness, like a forever trance: and that doesn’t sound so bad at all. The more he thought about it; the more he wanted to die. Until it was all he could ever think about, now it was just how- or when. He wasn’t gonna leave without doing something first, in this case he was gonna leave a few notes, to his enemy’s, to himself, to what could’ve been if life hadn’t been so dreadful. In another universe he’d probably despise suicide, but in this one he was madly in love with it.
