The sun’s warmth never reaching the sky makes her second guess this…mission. This was no playground for a solar powered kryptonian. Alex wouldn’t send her to a place with no sun, would he? “Consulting star-maps and cross-referencing with our databases,” Querl answered this matter-of-factly and not at all like he had combed the night sky looking for the star that belonged to her a thousand years ago.
He seemed to notice her staring at him and cleared his throat, looking away from her quickly, “It was an interesting thought exercise.”
Kara laid her head on his shoulder, pulling him into a hug that smelled like disinfectant and something that was entirely him.
“Thank you. I mean it,” Krypton was still lost, still out of reach, but Querl had found a piece of it for her, one she could find just looking up at the stars at night, her home shining brightly back at her.
Querl eventually relaxed, his body losing its rigidity as she hugged him. His face was still tilted up towards the sky but his eyes were closed, “of course.” -

Kara opens her mouth, then closes it.
“I don’t know,” she says after a long time. “I think I just wanted to not be the thing that broke us.”
Kelly nods. “That makes sense.”
She doesn’t ask anything else. Kara’s not ready, and Kelly respects that. But the thing that stays with her - the thing that makes her sit down later and write in her journal for the first time in months - is that Kara didn’t say I wasn’t the thing that broke us. She said I didn’t want to be. Which is a completely different sentence.

The break-up happens suddenly and neither Kara nor Lena is willing to offer a clear-cut explanation. Everyone that knows them has at least one theory about how it ended, some more out of pocket than others.

Kara is a lovely child of Alura and zor el but in an car accident her father died and she got severely injured. Because of the accident she can't speak and have take medications to keep her life stable.
