Summary
Kara can't take keeping her secret identity from Lena anymore, so she decides to confess to her best friend that she's Supergirl. They, little by little, become best friends again, but some way it's just new. They can't go back to how they were before.
It takes them time to find out that sometimes what you needed was right next to you. Or that no matter how much someone hurts you, sometimes you can't stop loving then (or you can't keep on hating them if you ever could at all). Their relationship is built upon lies that are starting to crumble and will leave them hurt. The question is if what they feel about each other is enough to stay, if it's friendship, if they should just give up, but most importantly, how far are they willing to go for each other.

Lena put down her book, and curiously moved to the balustrade looking down onto the main floor of her room. She spotted the metal hook latched onto the downstairs window, and watched curiously as a hand appeared on the window sill before a head of blonde hair popped into sight.
Lena crossed her arms in amusement as the thief hauled themselves through the window, falling into a crumpled mess on the floor with a pained groan. The thief lifted their head, and got to their feet inspecting the room with a noticeable confused frown - clearly having expected jewels or valuables in the castle’s tallest tower.
“What the-” The thief began to murmur to themselves.
It was at this point that Lena intervened, or at least… her hair did.

Her small fists bang against the image of her planet through the glass. She hurriedly looks in front of her, looking for the last part of her that is still alive, Kal-El's pod, drifting through the darkness of space, on its way to their new 'home'. She shifts her hands before her, taking in the sight of her cousin's pod. 'I have to make sure he's okay, he's my responsibility now,' she repeats to herself. Just as she began to feel a small amount of solace in her new purpose, she felt a bang at the back of her pod, looking back. As she turns to find Kal-El again, she finds herself alone; he's nowhere to be found.
She's alone.
She's. Alone.Kara gasps as she wakes in her bed, her National City apartment dark- save for the lights in her kitchen. Her hands grasp at her chest, clothes feeling too tight, too wet, clinging to her skin that has a slight sheen of sweat. She sits in her bed, head spinning.
