Summary
The thing about memories is that they're always there. Even if you don't always remember them, some part of your brain holds those images and words and sounds in your maze of a mind and never lets them go. And bringing one back either hurts too much or it won't let go, and you're left dangling, trying to hold onto something that you know if worth fighting for, but you don't remember why.
For Lance, memories were boxed and filed in his mind, like a perfectly organized desk drawer. His memories of Keith were sharper, and whether that was an effect of the emotions he had for the man interfering with his eidetic memory or the thousands of videos stored in their camera memory card. Sometimes Lance’s mind felt like that little chip, but the delete all button just wasn't there anymore. Not since… not since Keith had gone. Not left… gone.
And maybe Lance’s head was just making things up, maybe he'd wake up one day and feel okay and be ready to be alive again. But a person doesn't just forget someone like Keith, especially not someone who was in love with him.

Altea All Stars Team Voltron is hurting for a fourth boy to round out their routine and help them on the score sheets. Lance studies him carefully, going over battle moves in his head.
The wolf seems fairly young, male, and looks well-muscled.
A perfect opponent for Lance.
Lance does his signature rump wiggle, and springs from the bushes, landing hard in front of the other wolf.
The wolf is dark grey, almost black, and he jumped nearly a wolf-length in the air, his fur bushing in surprise.
"This land belongs to the Altean pack," Lance bares his teeth, but his fierce exterior falters as he takes in the other wolf's qualities.
Eyes dark like the night sky and wide with surprise.
He's handsome, even Lance has the pride to admit that.
