The point remained that flat tires were a common threat that anyone might encounter and that had been worth at least thinking about, even if his childhood reaction of sobbing in a parking lot at the sight of one had been a little overblown. Clowns were not a common threat. Clowns barely existed in modern life and the ones that did were harmless children's entertainers or very strange evangelists. There was no reason to be abnormally frightened of clowns. If a knife-wielding clown suddenly came around the corner, Sam would be an entirely normal amount of frightened.
