Clayton Jones finds out he has a soulmate when he is 7 years old, months before he meets Jake Phearson. Complete opposites, the two become fast friends until one day Clay has to move. Clay is 12 when he sees Jake again, just starting middle school. Fast forward to now, Jake and Clay are 15 and just starting high school. The two boys have always been teased by their peers for their close relationship, but Jake has gotten tired of it and starts to push Clay away, straining their bond even further.

Zayn sighed and turned slowly, looking in the direction that Mr Murs had pointed. Sat at a table, with his arms folded as he gazed out of the window – which just so happened to have a sudden shaft of sunlight shining through to surround him, making him appear angelic in the watery winter beams – was a solid-looking lad. As though hearing his name, he turned to face Zayn, a curious and seemingly hopeful expression on his face. Zayn took a deep breath and manoeuvred his way through the tables and chairs, shrugging out of his bag and dropping it carefully to the floor as he took his seat.
“Hi,” said Liam, giving him a friendly smile.
“Hi…” Zayn replied, feeling like his insides had melted into goo at the simple word.

“Louis,” Harry breathed happily. His smile widened as he realized he’d finally found him, and he was stood before his soulstar. This was the closest they’d been in 31 Earth years, which had felt extraordinarily long for Harry, even in his star form. He could hardly withhold his happiness at seeing him again.
“Erm, yeah,” Louis said, interrupting Harry’s thoughts with his brows furrowing and looking clearly suspicious. “And you are?”
Harry and Louis are literal stars who have known they were soulmates from their creation eons ago, however when Louis came to Earth to start the next phase of their fated future, he forgot everything. Even Harry.
This leaves Harry to break the rules and instead of waiting for Louis to call him and join him on Earth, he crashes down on his own. Without Louis there to guide him and help him learn how to adjust to having a human body and everything associated with that, Harry has no other choice but to do the best he can.
As Harry tries to correct what has gone wrong, he finds that friendship can be a light even in the darkest night, and through those bonds even separated soulstars can find their fated path once more.
