“Sure, if that’s what you want to call it.”
Her eyes narrow. “You’d have no business being there.”
Pushing herself up, Kurusu crosses her arms and casually leans her hip against the countertop. “I’m just a friend from school who you decided to bring to the event with you. If you don’t want to do it, that’s fine. I just figured I’d offer.”

Crow extends the flower towards Akira, as the rest of the team share a high five for having made their mark. The yellow glow of the petals burns through the dim of Mementos, beautiful and out of place. Crow smiles politely—he’s not even breathing hard from the fight—but his eyes are full of mischief.
Akira wonders if Akechi’s expression will be the same when he comes to kill him.
It’s four days before Akira is set to meet Akechi in the interrogation room and die by his hand. He has a plan to avoid it, of course, but Akira doesn’t want Akechi to sell his soul in exchange for Akira’s own survival. Akira wants things to go differently, and he will move the stars to change their supposed destiny, or he will die trying.

“No! I won’t! I can’t fucking be around you because we are only going to get each other hurt!” If he were any worse of a man he may have slapped Akira to get the damn point across.
Akira looks like he’s about to say something again, another gloved hand pressing against the leather protecting his upper arm. And then a door creaking open cuts any conversation they could have short. His hair brushes his shoulder as he looks behind him, noticing a towering castle of rubble and moss. The doors to it agape. Brushing off Akira’s hand, Goro takes a few steps inside.
