Anakin took off his booths, throwing them carelessly to the side, and unclipped his saber, putting it with care into the gorgeously decorated box that was placed beside the lounge. He took a moment to trace the intricate carving on the box, feeling the familiar patterns on his fingertips. He had loved that box as soon as he saw it, finding it perfect for its purpose; to let their sabers rest one beside the other in harmony, no matter the colour of their kybers.
His Master always had beautiful taste.
Barefoot, he stripped himself of his outer layers, and he had just shed his sodden undershirt when the door whooshed open again. His Master’s presence in the Force greeted him with an onslaught of delight and love, twining itself to him, leaving Anakin breathless as it always did, knees already weak.
Heart in his throat, he turned slowly, clutching the tunic between his hands.
“Dearest.”
