"I hate you!" she yelled, stomping her foot and getting in the March Hare's face as well. "I hate you for getting sick! I hate you!"
Her hands shot out and she shoved the March Hare forcefully, pushing against his chest as hard as she could as her eyes squeezed shut. She felt him move away from her and heard the clatter of him falling to the floor.
And when Alice opened her eyes again, she found herself in Alfred's curtained-off infirmary room, standing on his cot, while Alfred coughed and choked for air on the floor. Her arms were still raised in front of her when she had pushed him and they trembled suddenly.
She had pushed the March Hare. She hadn't pushed Alfred, had she? She would never. Why was he on the floor?

And just six months ago, she made a snarky remark to a preppy-looking boy who she just wanted to get a reaction out of.
Meanwhile, six months ago, Dodgy’s mother had pulled him from an expensive private school after just twelve weeks there because he was getting the shit beaten out of him and then enrolled him in an online academy and group therapy.
And yet, somehow, these two from totally different backgrounds managed to be the closest of friends.
