Summary
Elizabeth is an English woman who finds herself involved in the anti-emperor rebellion in Japan a few years after the Meji Restoration in the 19th century.
After being kidnapped, she comes into contact with the samurai and people led by the ex daimyo Katsumoto, this leading to a dramatic change in her character and life.

The story is told from the main characters' point of view in English only: to avoid the extensive use of Japanese language (even in Romaji), all words used in dialogues have an English translation.
The Japanese title (劇的な変化) could be translated as 'sea change' in English (meant as 'dramatic transformation/change').

On a cold winter night, one thing follows the other, and Katsu and Ujio end up growing closer to each other than any of them ever thought possible.

Nathan and his former slave Grace are taken captive by Katsumoto and his samurai. As Nathan heals in Taka's home, Grace is watched in Ujio's. The tough samurai is not silent with his hatred for the American soldier, but he cannot fight the common curiosity that many have in the village upon getting to meet their first African. What starts as genuine curiosity turns into a deep love the two never thought possible, being from different worlds. This is Grace's story from being a prisoner to being loved by a samurai.

This is an idea I have had in my head for a very long time: Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw x Nathan Algren (or Samurai!Maverick). Two soldiers, both at the prime of their physical prowess and beauty, meeting across space and time and bonding on their very different experiences of war - and of course, falling in love!
Also, a flagrant excuse I have given myself to finally draw a Roosmav historical fantasy AU, which was always one of my dreams.
