It's an unseasonably warm morning, the sky a bright blue with only a few white clouds passing overhead like grazing sheep. Children laugh and run about in the distance, chasing each other around headstones, their parents smiling fondly as they do so. An average Saturday, besides the small group of mourners off in the corner. The black crepe veil shields Evie from the sunlight - and from onlooker's curiosity. It doesn't hold much in the way of anonymity, her Papa's passing is well known in the community but it still gives her a comforting weight to hide behind.
Evie Frye is alone, but she is used to mourning. So she will free London. To protect the people.
Jacob Starrick is not alone, but he is used to wearing a mask. So he will work in the shadows. To take down his Father.- Language:

Haytham had to stop himself from laughing when Connor flinched as Shay suddenly appeared next to him, having sneaked up on the other man on silent feet. “Shay Cormac.” Connor said, already reaching for one of his daggers.
Shay only lifted an unimpressed eyebrow at that, smiling mildly. “I see that Achilles has told you his side of the story already.”Shay returns during the events of Assassin's Creed III, soon after Haytham and Connor decide to work together. He's not amused that Haytham's son is so determined to kill him. So he and Haytham make a plan to prevent just that and maybe even convince Connor that an alliance between Templars and Assassins might be useful, after all.

Summary
Jacob is curled into himself, tucked into the smallest, darkest corner he could find. Henry had found Evie, whispering words of concern about the young Templar. Evie isn't really sure what they should do - Jacob has been a tremendous help to them, getting them documents and even eliminating targets for them where they couldn't find an entrance that wouldn't blow their cover. Evie does want to help, but neither she nor Henry know how.
Jacob either hasn't realised that Evie and Henry are watching him, or hasn't noticed them enter the carriage, but he just continues to panic quietly in his corner. Evie and Henry both give each other worried looks - Jacob's easily the most observant Templar the pair had ever encountered.

Summary
Jacob finds it remarkably easy to disappear at parties. Although he is Crawford Starrick's son, with all the power and importance that comes with that fact, most people glance over the short eight year old without much other thought. It's relieving more than it is isolating - the other children do talk to him, on occasions, but being more plain means that the group of Father's friends that always want to talk to him leave him alone.
It does have its downsides, though.

She knows the route she needs to take, she knows all the codes to get past the guards. She should be able to get in and out without much bother.

Jacob pulls a face at that, remembering the deal he made when he was 13, just before he started at Winchester College. He doesn't regret the deal - he's excited to become a Templar, like his father - but three years somehow feels too long now. So much has happened in the four years since then, but three years outside of his home seems too long. He's never left England before, and has spent most of his life between London and Winchester.
