Summary
Deacon has a few tricks for navigating the Railroad: Don’t make assumptions. Don’t die. Definitely don’t get attached.
But sticking to the list is easier said than done when it comes to his new partner-in-espionage. Jeanne has a chip on her shoulder and pre-war degrees in combat medicine and failed revolutions. "Don’t get attached” becomes especially tricky when he realizes that more than a partner, what Jeanne needs is a friend. Because when it comes to Institute conspiracies, some answers are so devastating she may be better off living a lie.

Slooow burn. Deacon is trans and nonbinary, Sole Survivor is Québécois. Full of that good good missing Canadian annexation lore. Buckle up: mindfuckery, identity issues, and canon divergent plot twists ahead. Now a comic:

Summary
Deacon had always wanted one of those white-picket-fences sort of families he finds in prewar advertisements, the kinds with the kid and the spouse in a happy little unit. He gets all of that, and even more.
A collection of short stories about Deacon's new family, how he adjusts to life after the Institute, and the trials and tribulations of being a father in an age when learning how to tie a tie is not as easy as looking up a video online.

Summary
(“There’s something you’re keeping from me, Deacon. If I find out what it is and I don’t like it, there will be hell to pay.”)
After M7-97 flees the Institute, a woman working with the Railroad assists him. He never expects to see her again, but he does. He just doesn’t realize it at first.
(Inspired by Deacon’s lines about previously working for the Railroad as a girl and that synths not having family memories after the wipe was a symptom of early botch jobs.)
