A hand was pressed against their forehead, snapping them back to the present moment.
"Sorry," he apologized, surprisingly sounding guilty as he tugged his hand away, "I didn't mean to wake you up."
Two Time hummed, their throat immediately protesting against the vibrations. Oh Spawn, their throat hurt.
Their nails dug into the scratchy fabric of the couch cushions beneath them, a glass being nudged their way.
They took it gratefully, desperate to soothe the ache. The contents definitely helped, being a heated tea that numbed the pain.
Guest glanced towards the old grandfather clock and frowned. "A round's about to start," he announced, "I'll find you as quick as I can."
Just as he finished, the scenery changed around them, and they were now seated on the grass, the cup they once held gone.
Or, Two Time's sick, and everyone's a bit concerned.

"The fabric is wrapped around their wrists, saunching the blood and holding the cuts closed, with how tight they are. Unfortunate, but the pain is still running through their arms, which is a blessing. Azure should kill them, that's his job, and yet he's worrying. His voice is still garbled to Two Time's ears, before it fades entirely as the round ends. They're the last to lift from the table, as normal, and it's far too easy to slip to their cabin, spinning their dagger. The wounds are gone, after all, and they need reapplication."

Fingers curled around the handle of their dagger as they examined their legs, letting their mind run freely with ideas of what to do with themself. They were rather careless with that knife in their hand– any given person in this hellscape could tell you as much– but here, their singular goal became apparent.
With that clean canvas laid out before them, Two Time tilted the blade ever so slightly, the metal ghosting over their flesh. They nearly shivered with anticipation, but what truly came out first was instead a dreadful little giggle.
Two Time wants to take themself away from the other survivors' quarreling. Their methods of doing so, however, are more than a little questionable.

When the taxi horn beeped outside, Two Time stood reluctantly, grasping the handle of their suitcase. Amarah rose with them, steadying himself.
"Take care of yourself," he said, voice softer now. "And remember - even if the world puts you in a position you didn't choose... you are still only yourself. No one can take that."
Two Time swallowed hard, blinking fast. ".....Thank you, Amarah."
He patted their shoulder gently, a small squeeze of reassurance. "Go on now. Don't keep them waiting."
Two Time stepped out the door, the morning air sharp and bright, suitcase rolling behind them. They didn't look back until they were at the taxi, and when they did, Amarah was still at the window, waving.
And for the first time since this all began, the nerves settled just enough to let a flicker of hope shine through.

However, there's more to the deal than meets the eye- this is a chaos god who’s got a bone to pick with the Spectre, and a crush on Two Time.
AKA my self indulgent poly selfship AU with chimera werebeasts, so many Slay the Princess references it's become a crossover and a religious crisis as a cherry on top.
I genuinely don't know how long this is gonna get, because behind the scenes, there is a ridiculous amount of lore brewing.
