They could sense themself bordering onto the edge of death - something Two Time had not yet experienced, but had heard about their entire life. From the Spawn’s preachings to the whispered prayer sessions, Two Time had always revered death, had held it close to their heart. For death could not be avoided - no, that was foolish and plain stupid. Death could be bargained with - an exchange of sorts. That was what Two Time had learned.
Two Time could feel the Spawn lingering on their shoulders, waiting to drag them back up from the endless vortex of death for another chance at life. Two Time just had to actually die first.
Their entire body was laced with agony, yes. They could not move an inch without their nerves lighting up like a flame to gasoline. But this was the way to rebirth, to respawning. And Two Time would not make their sacrifice go to waste.
